Job Description

The ideal candidate is a self-motivated, experienced and outgoing person that will quickly become an integral part of our collaborative team.  Must have a high level of proficiency with industrial electronics, mechanics, and engineering.  Responsibilities include planning, designing, scheduling, building, installing, progress measurement and analysis of either a single automation major project or a portfolio of several smaller automation projects.  Work in partnership with sales, engineering, purchasing and manufacturing partners to ensure project success.  BlueBay’s Controls Engineers are challenged to continuously work to increase customer satisfaction.

Job Responsibilities

  • Must have experience with all facets of industrial control as well as knowledge and use of tools and resources to assist with any portion of the Controls Engineer role:
    • Machine & Motion Control
    • IEC 61131-3
    • Robot Programming
    • Machine Safety
    • HMI Development
    • IIoT & Networking
    • Schematic Development
    • VFD Commissioning
  • Work closely with various disciplines within the project team to ensure the accuracy and completeness of the project
  • Develop, monitor and update project plans and schedules so that projects can be executed in the most efficient manner possible
  • Review schedules with project team members on a regular basis to ensure that accurate and timely data is incorporated in the schedules
  • Provide project updates to team members and customers regarding the tracking and reporting of schedule performance
  • Monitor schedule deviations and variances and assist in developing alternate methods for corrective action
  • Analyze change orders for schedule impacts
  • Must be flexible and able to balance/prioritize multiple tasks
  • Other duties as assigned by management, i.e., applications, presentations, demos, etc.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Nashville location
  • Preference given to a degree in engineering or commensurate technical experience in a professional environment
  • At least 3+ years of professional Controls Engineer experience
  • Excellent writing and interpersonal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment is a must
  • Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete a project
  • Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner
  • Knowledge of project processes and best practices
  • Proficient with scheduling/document management databases, Microsoft Office, accounting and CRM software, etc.
  • Regular and reliable attendance at work
  • Self-motivated, assertive and conscientious
  • Ability to work independently, adapt quickly and maintain a positive attitude

Required Travel

  • Automobile travel as needed - Valid driver's license required and no prior suspensions
  • Plane travel from time to time
