Normalize the work and responsibilities before comparing welding automation prices. A robot package, a configured welding cell, and an application-ready production proposal can include substantially different scope even when all three are described as welding systems.

Write a common application brief
Provide the same drawings, expected demand, acceptance requirements, and available space to each supplier. Identify the welds intended for automation and any work you expect to remain manual.
Also explain whether the system is for one recurring product or several part families. A proposal optimized around a single sample is not equivalent to one developed for a broader workload, even if the first demonstration looks similar.
Separate the robot from the complete system
Robotic arc welding requires an integrated combination of motion and welding equipment. The commercial proposal should make that combination understandable.
Compare the welding package, work area, software, workholding scope, and any positioning or handling equipment. Ask what is supplied ready for the agreed application and what your team must still engineer or provide. A low headline price is not a complete comparison if major work is outside the quotation.

This is an illustrative comparison, not a description of any supplier's offer. Blank or differently described scope is a question to resolve, not evidence that a supplier will provide it at no charge.
Separate estimates from demonstrated results
A motion model, a dry cycle, and a welded production trial supply different evidence. Record the basis behind a quoted output figure. A complete-cycle estimate may be useful for planning without being a measured result.
Also state the operator activities and acceptance requirements assumed. Otherwise, a lower apparent cost per part may reflect omitted work rather than a better production method.
Compare the same first application
Give each proposal a common initial boundary: named parts, required weld coverage, expected release pattern, and stated responsibilities. Treat additional future families as extensions unless their preparation is explicitly included.
For a Spartan proposal, describe where seven-axis access is needed and what the Fronius package must support. The purchasing objective is an equivalent production outcome with understood scope. Once that is established, differences in price and capability become much easier to interpret without relying on broad cobot-versus-industrial assumptions.
